I don’t know, but most likely Miharu Mashiki reciprocates his feelings.

I don’t know what the authors thought when they made this scene.
This love confession was implemented very bad.

Just when Haruki Mishima makes the love confession, a truck drives into the picture and thus destroys the romantic moment.
The view gets blocked and it is impossible to hear the love confession and Miharu Mashikis answer (if there was one).

As the truck drives out of the picture you see a smiling Miharu Mashiki.
Therefore, I think that Haruki Mishima’s feelings were reciprocated by Miharu Mashiki.

Towa Honda makes a love confession to Mami Mihashi.

She rejects him at first because she is very insecure.
But Towa Honda sees through her and in the end is able to convince her to get over herself.

Happy End

… the end, after the credits, was again somewhat unclear.

Two students are seen running to school, but the faces were not shown.
Of course you might think that it’s Haruki Mishima and Miharu Mashiki.

But you could also think of a bad/sad end, due to Miharu Mashiki circumstances.

Miharu Mashiki has a weak heart and needs surgery.
For this she has to be transferred to another hospital.

After the love confession the credits are shown.
This means that the transfer and surgery of Miharu Mashiki will not be shown.
Therefore, it is not known if the operation on Miharu Mashiki was performed successfully.

The two students at the end might then be Towa Honda and Mami Mihashi or another couple.
But since the anime was very sweet and heartwarming most of the time, I don’t assume this worst-case scenario.

My opinion

Moments:

‘Konbini Kareshi’ is a romance anime with many heartwarming, cute and funny moments, but also drama moments and a few good plot twists.

Animation:

The animation was unfortunately not so pretty on some scenes or had a strange slow pace.

Characters:

The characters were all well done, however, Haruki Mishima later became a bit annoying because it took him so long to realize that he is in love with Miharu Mashiki.
As a result, the romance between the two dragged on a little too much.

Towa Honda and Mami Mihashi, on the other hand, have done very well by coming together.
Mami Mihashi was a bit worried about Towa Honda at the beginning and could not trust him, but Towa Honda did not give up.
Thanks to his confidence Mami Mihashi could finally trust him later.

Ending:

The end was unfortunately a bit unclear, but if you don’t assume the worst case, it was a good end.

I would definitely look forward to a second season, with a slightly better animation and more clarity about Haruki Mishima and Miharu Mashiki.

Furthermore, it would be very interesting to watch the romance stories of the other couples.

Episode Rating:

I rated episode 2 and episode 5 the best.


I rated episode 8 the worst because I found the drama about Towa Honda and Mami Mihashi a little overdramatic.
The rest was okay.
