Mary Kikakujou is in generally the least interesting of all girls.

Except that she often argue with Rin Onigawara about Fudou Nomura and tries to seduce him, she doesn’t really contribute much in the anime.

Warabi Hanasaka doesn’t feel romantic feelings towards Fudo Nomura and after she has made friends with him she helps him out.

Satori Tamaba has a rather strange emotionless personality.
Which she uses to her advantage as she approaches Fudo Nomura, without being ashamed.

And therefore she acts more open and direct towards Fudo Nomura, compared to the other girls in the harem (besides Kirukiru Amou).

However, this makes it difficult to tell if she has true romantic feelings for Fudo Nomura or not.

Tsukuyo Inaba is the omniscient and you realize that she is probably the strongest of all girls in the harem.

She also feels no romantic feelings towards Fudo Nomura and has a different relationship with him.

She becomes a master and he becomes her disciple.

Fudo Nomura

After Mary Kikakujou fighting with Fudo Nomura, she started to develop feelings for Fudo Nomura.
From then on, Mary Kikakujou and Rin Onigawara argue about who should take care of Fudo Nomura.

In the course of the anime, however, it can be noticed that the feelings of Mary Kikakujou towards Fudo Nomura are rather less in focus.

Fudo Nomura

Satori Tamaba can not stand Fudo Nomura in the beginning and tries to trick him.

Of course it comes to a fight (in the bathroom, both fight naked).
After the fight, they become friends.

Whereupon she immediately protects Fudo Nomura from a character in the bath.
Satori Tamaba hides him with her body.

Since she has a rather emotionless personality, she is not ashamed to approach Fudo Nomura (even naked).

At the end of the anime there is a small moment that indicate that Satori Tamaba is slowly beginning to develop romantic feelings for Fudo Nomura.

Kirukiru Amou

Fudo Nomura

Kirukiru Amou and Fudo Nomura were once briefly befriended at another school.
At some point, however, they have a dispute and they fight each other.

They have no contact after that anymore and then they meet again at the new school.
Which again leads to a fight between both.

During the fight it will be explained why Kirukiru Amou is so angry at Fudo Nomura, until the fight then finally ends and the disputes gets resolved.

Kirukiru Amou is a Yandere.
She wants Fudo Nomura just for her alone and gets, in a very crazy way, very jealous.

Anyone who approaches Fudo Nomura will have to deal with her.
Means by that, she will act very aggressively and ruthlessly towards the approacher.


We will only learn more About Kirukiru Amou just at the end of the Anime.
And because of a certain scene you will also realize that she is in love with Fudo Nomura.

Kirukiru Amou suddenly leaves the school.
Fudo Nomura then goes to the airport to say goodbye to her.

Kirukiru Amou then gives Fudo Nomura a goodbye kiss and tells him that he belongs to her.

Satori Tamaba break into Fudo Nomura’s room at night.

While he sleeps she takes nude pictures with him.
In addition she also gives him a “kiss”.

Since she’s not part of the harem at this point, it somehow feels wrong.
(That’s how it felt for me at least)

The next day, Rin Onigawara and Mary Kikakujou see the nude picture.
Whereupon they become angry at Fudo Nomura because they think he was “cheating”.

My opinion

Moments:

‘Busou Shoujo Machiavellianism’ is a typical action haremromance anime.

Fudo Nomura fights almost every episode against an opponent.

After winning the fight, he befriends with the opponent, who then becomes part of the harem.

And since then almost all the girls in the harem later feel somehow attracted towards Fudo Nomura, there then will be many haremromance moments, such as for example jealousy or seduction attempts.

Real romantic moments between Fudo Nomura and Rin Onigawara will be unfortunately just a few.
But in any case, you can recognize that the two have feelings for each other.
However, it is more noticeable in Rin Onigawara than by Fudo Nomura.


In the OVA episode there is a short moment where you can see that Fudo Nomura is not thinking of Rin Onigawara, but of another character, when asked about a certain thing.

Fudo Nomura is asked by whom he would like to have his back washed.
He then has a daydream, how Kirukiru Amou prepares to wash his back.

When he then is asked, on who he were just thinking, his eyes fell by chance on Rin Onigawara.


I found this scene a bit strange.
Maybe it was just an excuse, to somehow show Kirukiru Amou once more in the OVA too.


So, the moments summarized again: lots of action, typical haremromance, some drama and a little of real romance.

Animation:

The animation and the action scenes I found well done.
The fanservice would not have been necessary, but well.. it’s a harem, and was portrayed in a reasonable way.

Characters:

Fudo Nomura and Rin Onigawara:

Fudo Nomura is one of the few characters in a harem anime who is not a clumsy coward.
He is a cool and tough guy who does not hold back and who dares to say/do things without being ashamed.

Still, he is, like most male main characters in a harem anime, pretty clueless and doesn’t understand that all the women are after him.

Some of his actions, however, make it quite clear to us viewers, that he is closer to Rin Onigawara than to the other girls.


Rin Onigawara is the first opponent of Fudo Nomura and in my opinion, these two are definitely the romantic couple in the anime as they share some great romantic moments together.

Unfortunately, she has the typical tsundere personality.
Meaning, she has feelings for Fudo Nomura, but pretends she has not.
(One of the most annoying personalities in my opinion.)

Ending:

‘Busou Shoujo Machiavellism’ ends with a normal ending.
I actually expected a romantic ending to take place between the main couple, but this time I really have completely misinformed me.

I don’t think there will be a second season of this anime for now, since the manga is not far enough for that yet.

Episode Rating:

I rated episode 2 and 5 the best.
The other episodes were mostly just action or some haremromance.
